Excellent People, Excellent HomesThe Charles Potgieter Group was established in 1994. Through leadership and commitment to excellence, the business has grown substantially since its inception and the conduct of operations has resulted in an outstanding reputation with clients, financiers and suppliers. The group has completed various prestigious residential and commercial property developments largely in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and Somerset West/Strand. The business is run from an A-grade office block called Tygervalley Chambers One in Bellville, which is a R 160 million development started by them three years ago in a joint venture with Nedbank. |

The Management TeamCharles Potgieter
(CEO) Charles Potgieter is the founder and CEO of the group and is responsible for the strategic management and decision-making. His knowledge of the re-zoning and subdivision processes, ability to source and negotiate the purchase of prime land and design livable houses has contributed enormously to the success of the group. (Managing Director) (B.Proc., Dip. Tax.) Naomi le Roux
(Administration and HR manager) Naomi le Roux has been with the group since its inception and is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of the business. Her portfolio includes supervision of the bookkeeping function, payment of accounts, personnel records and general administration. Naomi’s knowledge of the business and attention to detail has made her Colette Harmsworth

(Operational Manager) (Baccalaureus of Construction Management) Annerika Engelbrecht
(Marketing Manager) Annerika Engelbrecht joined the group during 2007 after showing remarkable achievement in sales of our units whilst employed by one of our strategic business partners. Since taking up this position, Annerika has started to build a successful in-house sales department which will be expanded in future under her management. |
Labour Force & Skills DevelopmentThe group employs approximately 93 full time employees in addition to the 70 plus subcontractors who provide building, lastering, tiling, painting, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, electrical and civil services. During peak operations, the group directly and indirectly employs a work force of up to 800 people. The company is dedicated to the development of skills of its subcontractors and labour force. The introduction of the Skills Development Act acted as a springboard for the facilitation of workforce training. Together with supplier, Corrobrick, and the Building SETA, a training program was implemented during 2003 with very positive results on productivity and motivation. Other initiatives have included assisting contractors through the process of registering their businesses and appointing accountants to ensure proper administration and compliance. An entrepreneurial spirit was created through this process.
